BOAT PILOTS

Our company is seeking an experienced Boat Pilot.  The ideal candidate for this role is expected to perform safe and proper operation of the vessel.  We have openings at the following locations:  Wright’s Point in Blytheville and Memphis, TN.  This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable, hardworking Boat Pilot to apply his or her skills in a company that offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  •  Ability to operate a vessel
  • Provide leadership and direction
  • Operate vessel in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Operate vessel in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations
  • Safely and efficiently navigate the vessel and tow in and out of harbors
  • Use navigation tools to determine position and safe navigation
  • Maintain vessel logs
  • Safe operation of the vessel including direct course and speed of the vessel

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • S. Coast Guard License
  • TWIC Card
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard laws and regulations
  • Ability to operate vessel in it’s day to day operations
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

DECKHAND

Our company is seeking an experienced Deckhand.  We have openings at the following locations:  Wright’s Point in Blytheville, AR and Memphis, TN.  This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable, hardworking Deckhand to apply his or her skills in a company that offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties:

 Line Handling

  • General boat cleaning
  • Keeping maintenance logs, safety drills, etc.
  • Securing boat to barges (facing boat up)
  • Minor engine room work includes oil changes, greasing, etc.
  • Securing barges together (laying rigging)
  • Painting

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Willingness to work in difficult conditions with exposure to all weather conditions
  • TWIC Card
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to work various hours/holidays/weekends
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent

Marine Mechanic

Our company is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic.  The ideal candidate will travel to three locations:  Wright’s Point in Blytheville, AR, Richardson Landing, and Memphis, TN. You will be provided a company truck.   This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable, hardworking Marine Mechanic to apply his or her skills in a company that offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Employee would be responsible for ensuring that the vessels function properly and efficiently.  Some duties are but not limited to the following:

  •  Travel required as needed
  • Repair or replace wiring equipment or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools
  • Work from ladders to maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
  • Preventative maintenance checks
  • Diagnose faulty systems, apparatus, or parts, using equipment and hand tools to find the reason for a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Some welding
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or parts to spot hazards, defects, or the necessity for adjustment or repair, and to confirm compliance with codes
  • Examine electrical system of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, like ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to confirm compatibility and safety of system
  • Use different types of tools or equipment, like power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, like oscilloscopes, ammeters, or check lamps
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to see the placement of wiring or equipment, and to confirm correspondence to assembling and safety codes
  • Construct and fabricate elements, using hand tools and specifications
  • Direct or train other employees to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must obtain TWIC Card
  • Pass pre-employment screening including but not limited to drug and alcohol testing
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, suck as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things are physical requirements
