Corps Inland Waterways Users Board to Meet May 25

The federal advisory committee meeting of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Inland Waterways Users Board (Board) is meeting from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 25 at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The board provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Army on construction and rehabilitation project investments on the commercial navigation features of the inland waterways. At the meeting the board will receive briefings and presentations regarding investments, projects and status of inland waterway systems. On the agenda is 2018 funding for inland navigation; status of the 2019 budget for the navigation program; status of the Inland Waterways Trust Fund; status of the construction for Olmstead Locks and Dam, the locks and dams 2, 3 and 4 on the Monongahela River; Chickamauga Lock; and Kentucky Lock projects.

The public is invited to attend and comment. Those interested in making verbal comment at the meeting must submit a request at least three days prior to the meeting with a statement of the subject to be addressed. This should be sent to Mark R. Pointon, the Designated Federal Officer (DFO) for the committee at Mark.Pointon@usace.army.mil. Written comments or statements to the board can also be submitted to Mark Pointon five days prior to the meeting and must include the author’s name, title, affiliation, address and phone number.
