2018 Pushing Hope Annual Charity Tournament Set

The 2018 Pushing Hope annual marine industry charity tournament for the benefit of the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center has been set for August 16-18. The event will be held at the Kirkwood (Mo.) Athletic Association Ballpark, with opening ceremonies beginning at 6:30 p.m. on August 17.

Teams made up of marine industry personnel will participate in both softball and kickball games to help raise money for the research center located in Dallas, Texas.

The event, organized by Ceres Consulting LLC, St. Louis, Mo., which along with its pink barge known as Big Hope 1, has generated donations of more than $861,000 to the research center since 2012. In 2016, the tournament raised more than $180,000 and in 2017, it raised nearly $150,000.

In addition to the tournament, a seafood boil, golf outing and a new 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk will take place that week.
