Obituary Notice: Capt. Ernest T. Reed

Capt. Ernest T. Reed, 63, of Caseyville, Ill., died on January 2 at his residence.

Ernest was a U.S. Army Reserves Veteran.  He worked as a towboat captain for 43 years, and had worked on the rivers since 1970. He was one of the youngest men at the time to become a captain. During his career, he worked for Peanut Hollinger, Inland Marine, Marquette Towing, Lewis & Clark Marine and American Commercial Barge Line.
