St. Louis Maritime Law Seminar Set For September 27

The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) will hold its annual Maritime Law Seminar September 27 at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, 1 S. Broadway, St. Louis, Mo.

The annual Continuing Legal Education event brings together inland river operators, maritime attorneys (plaintiff and defense), general practitioners, claims adjusters and insurance brokers from up and down the Mississippi River.

The event will include breakfast and lunch at the hotel as well as a reception the night before, at Three Sixty, an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and eatery with 360-degree views.

The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. with opening remarks by Douglas Gossow of Goldstein & Price LC, chairman of the BAMSL Admiralty Law Committee.

Seminars and presenters will include: Non Garden Variety Maintenance and Cure Claims—Robert Nienhuis, Goldstein & Price; Maritime Hiring Practices—Ron Fox, Fox Galvin LLC; Barge Breakaways: A Maritime Law Perspective—Shannon Oberkrom, Tonkin & Mondl LC; Punitive Damages and Maritime Claims—panel discussion with speakers to be announced; and Coast Guard Marine Casualty Investigations—representative of Coast Guard Sector Upper Mississippi River.

The seminar will adjourn at 3:30 p.m.
