Sabine Surveyors Announces New Parent Company, Leadership

Following the completed acquisition of Gulf Copper & Manufacturing’s shipbuilding assets by Davie Defense, Houston-based Sabine Surveyors Ltd. has announced reorganization moves aimed at strengthening the company’s position as a marine services provider.

Sabine Surveyors’ new parent company is now Sabine Marine Group. In addition, subsidiary Gulf Copper Government Services has become Sabine Ship Repair Inc., bringing the entire company under a unified brand.

As part of the organizational transition, the company also announced leadership appointments. Capt. David Pereira, previously president of Sabine Surveyors, has been named CEO of Sabine Marine Group. Robert Keister, a retired U.S. Coast Guard commander, has been named president of Sabine Surveyors, where he previously served as executive vice president.

“This transition represents more than a name change. It’s a commitment to innovation, operational excellence and customer-focused service,” Pereira said. “Under the Sabine Marine Group banner, we will continue to build on our strong foundation while exploring new opportunities to serve the maritime industry with integrity and expertise.”

Sabine Surveyors is a full-service marine surveying and consulting firm founded in 1968. The company has nine offices in Houston, Corpus Christi and Port Arthur, Texas; New Orleans and Lake Charles, La.; Mobile, Ala.; Cape Canaveral, Fla.; Norfolk, Va.; and Paducah, Ky. The company’s services include bulk and project cargo surveys, hull and machinery surveys, damage surveys, protection and indemnity surveys, on-hire and off-hire bunker and vessel condition surveys, vessel appraisals and audits and Subchapter M compliance services.
