Terral RiverService Announces Construction Of Two New Vessels
Terral RiverService, Inc., headquartered at Lake Providence, La., and with roots stretching back to 1946, has announced the construction of two new towboats.
“The new vessels will further strengthen our commitment to providing safe, reliable and efficient service on the inland waterways,” said Johnny Martin, chief operating officer.
The twin-screw conventional vessels are being built by Intracoastal Iron Works in Houma, La., on the design of Farrell and Norton Naval Architects. Each vessel features a 78- by 30-foot hull with an 8-foot draft. They will be powered by Mitsubishi Tier 3 main engines, each rated at 803 hp. at 1,400 rpm. Additional specifications include Twin Disc MGX5321 gears, John Deere generators, Wintech 40-ton winches and 76- by 53-inch wheels. The vessels are scheduled to be completed at the end of 2026.
“These new additions represent Terral’s continued investment in our fleet, our customers and the future of our operations,” Martin said.
