Thats how switchboard operators are answering the phone at LeTourneau for now as its integration into Cameron International (formerly known as Cooper Cameron Corporation) became complete in the fourth quarter of 2011. The sign on the building outside said only Cameron the operator said. The employees have been receiving internal communications on the integration which has been covered by financial and business publications but the company has not yet issued a press release on the final naming. In reporting a net loss of $6.2 million for the three months ending September 30 2011 compared to net income of $7.1 million for the same three months a year earlier Orion Marine Group Inc. again blamed continued funding inaction by the federal government as dredging projects slowed in a climate of funding uncertainty. The same causes had led to a second-quarter loss of $3.2 million for Orion as it shed about 300 people from its workforce. Read More
Rio de la Plata the mammoth sea-like estuary whose shores are home to Argentine capital Buenos Aires and the Uruguayan capital Montevideo is fed by two main tributaries: the Paran River which runs northward through Argentina and eventually becomes its border with Paraguay; and the Uruguay River which curves to the northeast creating borders between Uruguay Argentina and Brazil. Its no humble ambition: to make the Rio de la Plata river system become to South America what the Mississippi is to North America. The Western Dredging Association (WEDA) Pacific Chapter met in Portland Oregon on October 26 through 28 presenting Corps of Engineers contracts planned for 2012 and a full schedule of technical talks about dredging projects in the region.
