Interior Design Firm Tops 350 Marine Projects

Since 1985, Directions In Design of St. Louis has completed more than 350 marine interior design projects, including towboats, excursion boats, dinner boats, casino vessels, ferries and terminal facilities.

The firm works from coast to coast, on all inland waterways, and Alaska to Florida. Current projects include new ferries for Staten Island, New York, new vessels for the Alaska Marine Highway, and ferries and excursion boats on the Great Lakes.

With 34 years of marine design experience, Executive Vice President Jeanine Bequette leads the marine division.

There are many components and aspects to be integrated in the design process such as visual appeal, lighting control, acoustic levels, storage needs, maintenance, safety and privacy issues. Directions In Design’s in-house resources include a large library and a drafting department that includes AutoCAD, Revit, and Lumion 3d interactive digital presentations with connectivity to clients anywhere in the world.
