U.S. Navy Awards $16.8 M to Knudsen for Supply of Sonar Systems

New York-based Knudsen Systems Inc. (KSI) has been awarded a 4-year follow-on contract by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Keyport, to supply sonar sounding sets for fleet installation on DDG Class Destroyers and other ship classes.

KSI distributes sonar products produced by the Canadian manufacturer, Knudsen Engineering Ltd. located in Perth, Ontario.

The IDIQ contract with an estimated ceiling of $16.8 million will include delivery of 320N Navigation Echosounders, EchoSim Sonar Simulators, Remote Displays and NTDS converter systems. The 320N Sonar Set, Navy-designated as the UQN-10 next generation fathometer, was originally designed as a drop-in replacement to the obsolete UQN-4 fathometer installed on a significant number of U.S. surface ships. The 320N has also been selected for several new U.S. ship builds.
