American Cruise Line Offers Longest Ever U.S. Cruise

American Cruise Lines is offering the longest-ever domestic cruise itinerary, visiting 20 states in 60 days beginning in August 2024.

The Great United States cruise spans all four U.S. time zones and is meant to celebrate the country “from sea to shining sea” as the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday in 2026, the cruise line said.

“The Great United States cruise is a fantastic showcase of our country and of the breadth of American Cruise Lines, said Charles B. Robertson, president and CEO of American Cruise Lines. “A river cruise of this magnitude has never been done before in the U.S., and only American Cruise Lines is capable of delivering it successfully.”

Guests will begin at the Pacific Coast in Portland, Ore., and travel east to the Atlantic, cruising coastlines as well as four major rivers with some days on land exploring national parks. The cruise price—which starts at more than $50,000—includes a flight from Jackson, Wyo., to New Orleans, La., and one from St. Paul, Minn., to Portland, Maine, along with a pre-cruise hotel night stay and five nights in hotels between cruise segments, all meals and beverages, port charges, tips and wi-fi internet, along with an American Cruise Lines jacket and gear pack.

The Great United States experience culminates in New York Harbor with a viewing of the Statue of Liberty from the ship on the last day of the cruise.

Highlights of the river portions of the trip include retracing the steps of Lewis and Clark on the Columbia and Snake rivers, a complete Mississippi River cruise with tributes to Mark Twain and Elvis Presley and venturing up the Hudson River during fall foliage season. Passengers will also have a privately guided tour through Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. Passengers will spend time aboard the American Jazz, American Symphony and American Independence cruise ships during different legs of their voyage.

The first The Great United States cruise sails August 14, 2024, to October 14, 2024. The price per person ranges from $51,060 to $77,945, depending on stateroom selection. A deposit of $5,000 per person is due upon reservation. Reservations are open to book.
