Liebherr Miami Branch Celebrates 10 Years

The Liebherr Group, headquartered in Switzerland with operations in and historic ties to Germany, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Miami branch.

Liebherr, made up of 13 segments that include technology and automation systems, aerospace and transportation systems, a wide array of cranes, earthmoving and mining machines, material handling technology and luxury hotels, entered the U.S. market in 1970 with the construction of two manufacturing facilities and the establishment of a North American headquarters in Newport News, Va.

Since then, the company has expanded, with additional sales and service locations throughout the United States, including the Miami region.

“We are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Miami branch, representing our umbrella company and the diverse product units based in this location,” said Tim Gerhardt, managing director of Liebherr USA. “Our focus has been on delivering groundbreaking products, unmatched service and industry-leading solutions for our customers. This achievement stands as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Miami-based team over the past 10 years.”

Liebherr’s work in the Miami region goes back around 20 years. Its 56,000-square-foot Miami facility, in the Hialeah Gardens area, opened in 2013. The Miami office is the “main hub for sales and service for the company’s maritime cranes and tower cranes product segments, as well as refrigerators and freezers for residential and commercial applications,” the company said in announcing the anniversary.

Liebherr’s maritime crane business line specializes in mobile harbor cranes, container cranes and fixed equipment for ports, along with cranes designed for offshore, ship and floating applications. Besides serving as the sales and service hub for Liebherr USA’s maritime business line, the Miami office also is the worldwide training center for Liebherr’s maritime customers and operators.

Liebherr also offers fast-erecting and top-slewing cranes from its Miami segment, along with digital solutions and consulting services that connect customers with smart data analysis to maximize efficiency. The Miami office also features an on-site showroom for Liebherr’s line of luxury refrigerators and freezers, targeted for residential use, and commercial units suitable for industries like food service and healthcare.

Liebherr stocks its Miami office with a wide range of spare parts, allowing for quick distribution across the region. The office’s proximity to Miami’s airport and the Port of Miami also boosts Liebherr’s presence throughout the Gulf Coast and Caribbean regions and Central America.
