Matthews Brothers Dredging Announces Leadership Transition

Pass Christian, Miss.-based maintenance dredging contractor Matthews Brothers Dredging LLC has announced a planned strategic leadership expansion that will position the company for long-term growth and operational excellence.

Effective July 1, Trey Taylor will begin serving as CEO. Taylor is already a long-tenured member of Matthews Brothers’ leadership team and has played a key role in the company’s recent growth. Taylor’s experience spans sales, operations, safety and executive leadership.

Taylor will succeed Declan Rushe, operating partner with Matthews Brothers’ sponsor, Carr’s Hill Partners. Rushe joined Matthews Brothers in 2023 and will remain with the company as an advisor to the company’s board of directors. With Rushe as CEO, Matthews Brothers has expanded its market presence and its fleet, grown its safety culture and strengthened its operational performance.

Matthews Brothers was founded in 1999 by Tom and Shaw Matthews, brothers who, along with Rushe, will remain active members of the company’s board of directors. Shaw Matthews, who currently serves as president of the company, will transition to focus exclusively on his role with the board of directors.

“This leadership transition reflects the strength of our team and our shared commitment to Matthews Brothers’ future,” Taylor said. “I am honored to step into this role and build on the outstanding work of Declan, Tom and Shaw. Together, we will continue to serve our clients, invest in our people and expand our impact in the industry.”

Matthews Brothers provides maintenance dredging and specialty dredging services for both private and public customers throughout the Gulf Coast. More information is available online at mcdllc.net.
