President and Senate Push $105M for Small Shipyards

In his formal FY 2027 budget proposal released last week, President Donald Trump again requested $105 million for the Small Shipyard Grant Program, matching the record request level included in the administration’s FY 2026 proposal. The budget also calls for $250 million for a new Commercial Shipbuilding Infrastructure Development Program. Together, the two proposals would provide $355 million for shipyard-related grants under the Maritime Administration.
