Tallvine Completes Crosby Acquisition
Tallvine Partners, an investment fund focused on middle-market infrastructure opportunities, announced on September 16 that it had acquired all assets of Crosby Enterprises Inc.
The transaction was completed following a court-approved sale process conducted in connection with Crosby’s Chapter 11 proceedings and approved by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on September 3. Crosby entered the Chapter 11 process in March. The company has continued operations without interruption.
Miami-based Tallvine said it wants to “build on Crosby’s longstanding legacy while continuing to support the customers, employees and communities that rely on its services every day.” It is bringing on Mike Ellis, former CEO of American Commercial Barge Line, to be an operating adviser to Tallvine. Thoroughbred Investment Partners will remain the platform’s industrial partner.
Headquartered in Galliano, La., Crosby is a leading provider of marine infrastructure solutions across the U.S. Gulf Coast and inland waterways, including offshore and inland towing, dredging, rock placement, marine construction support and shipyard services. Its fleet of more than 150 tugboats, dredges, support vessels and shipyard and berth facilities support the operation and maintenance of the region’s navigable waterways, ports and energy and industrial infrastructure.
“Crosby is a strong addition to our North American marine infrastructure platform, bringing a leading presence in one of the country’s most active maritime markets,” said Thomas Lefebvre, partner & CEO of Tallvine. “For nearly 50 years, Crosby has built an outstanding reputation for delivering critical marine services across the U.S. Gulf Coast and inland waterways. We are committed to investing in its people, fleet and infrastructure while preserving the operational excellence that has made Crosby a trusted partner to customers throughout the region.”
It’s the third acquisition under Tallvine’s North America marine infrastructure platform, following its September 2025 acquisition of Donjon Marine Company, LLC and its May 2026 acquisition of Lind Marine, LLC.
