Boykin Named Waterways Council, Inc. Communications Head
Waterways Council, Inc. (WCI) welcomed Nick Boykin as its new director of communications and membership October 5.
Boykin was most recently senior marketing and communications manager for the Greater Washington Board of Trade in Washington, D.C., leading integrated campaigns across the board’s website, email, social media, video, newsletters and events that supported its member engagement and organizational visibility.

Before that, he worked for WUSA9 TV-TEGNA in Washington, D.C., serving in several roles, including news marketing producer and digital editor. He was also news and website producer for WTKR – Tribune Media in Norfolk, Va., and social media coordinator for WP Rawl in Pelion, S.C.
Boykin also recently served on the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS, Washington, D.C.) Board of Governors as its communications chair.
He earned a Master of Science degree in data marketing communications from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication from Methodist University.

Nick succeeds Senior Vice President Deb Calhoun, who will retire at the end of this year.
