Obituary Notice: Troy Eddington

Troy Eddington, 66, of Memphis and Union City, Tenn., died May 15 at Tri Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He was employed by DeHart Marine for 35 years prior to opening Troy’s Marine Electronics in Memphis.

“Troy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, attending concerts and his dogs and cats,” according to his official obituary. “He was an avid sports fan and loved supporting the University of Kentucky Wildcats, St. Louis Cardinals and Memphis Grizzlies.”

He was born January 9, 1960, in Fulton, Ky., and was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Hildred Laverne (Spillers) Eddington. He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Murray State University. He married his high school sweetheart, Tina (Patey) Eddington, June 29, 2012.

Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Niki Collins and Danielle Gallimore of Union City; one son, Chance Collins of Union City; his older brother, Huge “Bo” Eddington of Mountain View, Mo.; his twin brother, Roy Eddington of Hickman, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two granddaughters and two sisters.

Funeral services were May 19 at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral home in Union City with burial in the Hickman (Ky.) City Cemetery.
