Judge Declares Damage Amount In 2021 Incident

On July 17, a federal judge ordered Marquette Transportation to pay the city of Little Rock $4.3 million to compensate for damage to a protective cell caused by a breakaway barge being pushed by the mv. Kieffer E. Bailey that struck the cell in front of the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge on Sept. 10, 2021. The city filed suit in 2023, seeking $6.5 million in damages, which the judge reduced.
