Brazil Announces $64 Million US Infrastructure Investments for Alagoas State

The Brazilian Minister of Transports, Valter Casimiro, announced a government investment of BRL 250 million ($64 million US) for infrastructure projects in the northeast state of Alagoas. The investment covers the state port, road and airport sectors. Additionally, the government official also signed a BRL 5.1 million ($1.3 million US) investment to build a port terminal for passengers at the local Port of Maceió, in the state’s capital. Casimiro also delivered what government officials called a “pre” dredging project for the Lagunar Mandaú-Manguaba Estuariene Complex. The so-called Estuarine Complex is made up of two lagoons, the Mundaú and the Manguaba, located in the coast of Alagoas state. No timeline or expected investment targets were released for the Estuarine Complex yet.
