Registration Opens for WEDA Conferences

Registration has opened for Western Dredging Association (WEDA) Gulf Coast and Pacific Coast Chapter Conferences.

The meetings will provide a forum for the exchange of information of interest to the dredging industry and its associates. Representatives from all areas of the industry, including regulatory, resource agencies, contracting and manufacturing, will attend to discuss dredging economics, benefits, technologies and current issues. Professional Development Hours (PDHs) certificates will be available for this meeting.

Sponsorships and exhibitors are also being accepted.

The Gulf Coast event will take place November 12 to 14 San Luis Resort, Spa and Conference center in Galveston, Texas. A golf outing and cocktail party will kick off the conference, which will be followed by two days of presentations and meetings, as well as a visit to the Texas Seaport Museum and the Tall Ship Elissa. The Pacific Coast Chapter Conference will be held October 29 to 31 at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, California. For all up-to-date conference information for the 2019 WEDA Pacific Fall Conference, please visit the Pacific Chapter Page of the WEDA website.

Abstracts for technical presentations or posters are being accepted for the Pacific Coast conference until August 16. Information should may be on aspects of dredging and disposal, navigation structures, environmental restoration, and related topics are welcome with presentations specifically relevant to West Coast issues or projects encouraged.

Those submitting accepted abstracts will be invited to give a presentation or poster on that subject at the conference. The conference will feature a hosted poster social, a federal dredging program presentation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and industry meeting, technical presentation and history and educational cruise on Newport Harbor.
