ERL Open House Returns To Channelview, Texas

November 3 marked the return of an in-person ERL Inc. open house event, previously canceled due to COVID restrictions in 2020 and 2021. The annual event—held at shop headquarters in Channelview, Texas,—serves as a meet-and-greet for ERL’s employees and vendors in the industry. Along with an afternoon barbecue and raffle, shop tours occurred every 30 minutes—giving vendors the opportunity for an inside look at the processes behind product design, testing, implementation and repair at the facility. Positioned at each stage in the workflow, ERL employees provided demonstrations on their roles in the process and answered questions from the attendees.

A highlight at the event included an overview of the largest on-site pump test stand in the industry. At this location, ERL, formerly known as Law Valve of Texas, runs full tests on new and existing products. This includes the recently released Evergreen Seal—which acts as a replacement to current braided gasket material and fulfills the need to meet an industry standard of holding pressures up to 3 PSI with a 90 percent reduction of fugitive emissions from deck side hatches. Utilizing a 500 hp. engine, the vertical turbine pump testing operation is capable of measuring pressure, flow, temperature and horsepower to assist customers with identifying how to operate their pumps in the most efficient manner.

ERL also has operations based in New Albany, Ind.
