Mississippi River Commission Sets Public Meeting Dates

The Mississippi River Commission has announced the schedule for its public meetings during its spring high water inspection tour of the Mississippi River and tributaries.

Four meetings will be held aboard the mv. Mississippi. All will be open to the public with the following agenda:

1—Summary report by the president of the commission on national and regional issues affecting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and commission programs and projects on the Mississippi River and its tributaries;

2—Corps of Engineers district commander’s overview for the commission on current project issues in the respective area; and

3—Presentations to the commission by local organizations and members of the public giving views or comments on any issue affecting the programs or projects of the commission and the Corps.

The schedule of meetings is as follows:

April 8—New Madrid, Mo., city front;

April 9—Memphis, Tenn., Mud Island Park;

April 10—Greenville, Miss., city front; and

April 12—Baton Rouge, La., city front.

All meetings will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

The commission will accept testimonies for the record until 5 p.m. on April 12.
