Master Boat Builders Reports Delivery Of Mv. Defiant
Master Boat Builders announced November 3 the delivery of the mv. Defiant. The vessel is the third in an eight-boat series to Maritime Partners and was delivered following its successful launch in August.
“The delivery of the Defiant marks the third tug in our eight-vessel series for Maritime Partners, but it also reflects the steady pace of work at Master Boat Builders,” said Garrett Rice, president of Master Boat Builders. “We’re delivering a tug from our yard every six weeks, and that’s a testament to our skilled shipbuilders and strong partners who know how to get boats built here in the United States. This is good old-fashioned Gulf Coast shipbuilding — hardworking people, pride in the craft and a commitment to delivering quality vessels on time.”
The Defiant follows its sister vessels, the mvs. Titan and Marauder, which were delivered to Maritime Partners in August and are chartered by E.N. Bisso & Son, Inc.
The vessel is an A1 escort tug and towing vessel and measures 88 feet in length. It is designated as a Low Emissions Vessel (LEV), is Automated Machinery System (AMS) certified, Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Drydocking (UWILD) certified and designated with FFV1 fire-fighting capability.

According to Master Boat Builders, the Defiant will aid the existing Maritime Partners’ fleet in towing, escort and marine support initiatives. The remaining five vessels are currently under contract and are scheduled for delivery through the completion of the series.
