Ma Cherry Trivedi was recently announced as the new chief operating officer at the Illinois International Port District. IIPD commended Trivedi’s 25 years of experience in maritime logistics, port operations and public-private leadership.

“We’re thrilled to have Cherry on board and look forward to the experience, insight and partnership she will bring as IIPD continues to strengthen its multimodal assets and support economic growth across the region,” IIPD said in its announcement.

Trivedi earned her MBA at the Illinois Institute of Technology and is NACD director-certified. She has served in a variety of leadership roles and recently held the position of CEO of the Institute of Directors in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.

Rusty Herbert, Dupre Marine Transportation

Dupre Marine Transportation in Houma, La., recently announced the return of its employee, Rusty Herbert. Herbert began his maritime career at the age of 18 as a deckhand and spent the next 26 years working his way up to the wheelhouse, where he aided in both offshore

and inland towing. He served as port captain for five years before leaving Dupre Marine. Now, eight years later, Herbert has returned to Dupre as safety and regulatory compliance manager.

“This is exciting times at Dupre Marine, and we are happy Rusty Herbert is part of the shoreside crew once again,” Dupre Marine said in its announcement.
