Resolve Marine Relocates To New Tacoma Facility

For more than 40 years, Resolve Marine has built its reputation by responding to some of the maritime industry’s most complex challenges. From marine salvage and emergency response to commercial diving and marine construction, the company has continued to expand its capabilities around the world. Now, that commitment is extending even farther into the Pacific Northwest with the relocation of its Tacoma, Wash., operations to a new waterfront facility on the Foss Waterway.

Originally establishing its Tacoma location in 2023, Resolve Marine has recently moved into a larger waterfront facility at 700 E. D Street. The new location provides dedicated dock space, expanded yard capacity, increased emergency response equipment and upgraded salvage gear, allowing the company to better serve shippers, ports, offshore operators and government agencies throughout the region.

For Resolve Marine, the move wasn’t simply about finding a larger building; it was about finding a facility that better supports both its employees and customers.

“We have been researching locations that could offer larger capabilities for our company and for our clients,” said Chad Kasin, facility manager for Resolve Marine’s Pacific Northwest operations. “A waterfront facility with dock space and larger, secured storage area has accomplished that.”

Remaining in the same area was also an important part of the decision. While the company wanted additional space and waterfront access, it also wanted to continue serving the customers and partners it has built relationships with since arriving in Tacoma.

The waterfront location immediately changes how Resolve Marine operates. Instead of transporting equipment to another launch site, crews can mobilize directly from their own dock, reducing response times while creating new opportunities for customer demonstrations and employee training.

“The ability to mobilize at our facility right here on the waterfront is a plus for us and our clients,” Kasin said. “Additionally, we can utilize the existing dock space for training and presentations to customers.”

The expanded facility also includes a larger secured yard, where emergency response equipment can be organized and stored for faster deployment.

“Mobilization and demobilization timelines will be reduced,” Kasin said. “It also enables us to store ready response packages for deployment and is optimal for inventory and availability of equipment.”

Those improvements are especially valuable for a company whose work often begins with an emergency phone call.

“Response time is everything,” Kasin said. “Our house never sleeps, and our phones are always ringing. Our customers depend on us whenever they are in need.”

As one of Resolve Marine’s three Marine Service Centers, the Tacoma location offers shipyard and husbandry services, commercial diving, vessel maintenance and repair, marine construction, underwater inspections, dredging, demolition and marine salvage. Kasin said demand across the Pacific Northwest continues to grow.

“This industry is always growing, and we are at the forefront as a service provider to the entire coast,” he said.

The company recently demonstrated those capabilities while assisting with the recovery of the 130-foot Dominion tug, which sank at Bremerton Marina last fall. Working under its agreement with the U.S. Coast Guard, Resolve Marine’s salvage team helped recover the vessel while mitigating environmental impacts.

Although the Tacoma facility serves the Pacific Northwest, it also works closely with Resolve Marine’s operations in Alaska and Mobile, Ala., allowing personnel, specialized equipment and resources to move between regions when needed.

“Our Marine Service Centers group works in tandem with each region,” Kasin said. “The Pacific Northwest facility has the ability to support customers locally but is not limited geographically. We often work in collaboration with our other facility locations.”

Looking ahead, Resolve Marine plans to continue expanding its services, staffing and capabilities as demand across the region increases. Kasin said the company sees continued opportunities in marine construction, commercial diving, environmental response and marine salvage while remaining focused on providing dependable service to customers.

“We evolve with the market and the greater industry,” Kasin said. “Our customers trust us to stay ahead of the curve and provide solutions that will support their needs.”

While the facility itself represents a significant investment, the company’s greatest strength remains its people, Kasin said.

“Our people and our commitment to safety are our most important commodities,” he said. “The facility is a representation of that principle.”

For customers throughout the Pacific Northwest, the relocation represents another step in Resolve Marine’s long-term investment in the region.
