Duffy Honored With Maritime Person Of The Year Award

Capt. Chris Rieder and Sean Duffy Sr. at the Propeller Club event. Duffy was named Maritime Person of the Year for the New Orleans chapter for his work as president and CEO of the Big River Coalition in securing funding for dredging and other projects. Rieder, the retired president of NOBRA Pilots, introduced Duffy and talked about meeting him the first time when Rieder was sailing a ship in winter. Duffy had to jump on a ship mooring buoy to chop lines free from the ice that had accumulated on the buoy.
