Letters To The Editor

Letter: Peter C. Merrill

Great recent article on a true river legend in our industry (“Pete Merrill: Still Surveying After 55 Years,” WJ, October 21). There are an infinite number of famous Pete Merrill stories; however, one sticks out that I’m sure everyone remembers.

When the starter of the Muddy Waters scramble golf tournament sounded the horn for everyone in their golf carts to go to their assigned holes, the sound of 100 golf bags flying off the back of golf carts hitting the pavement with a loud bang was deafening.

Thank you Pete. By loosening those cart straps you always knew how to liven up an industry event.
