Riverview Boat Store Buys Mv. Saratoga

Riverview Boat Store & Tug Service, Bellevue, Iowa, a midstream provider of groceries and supplies as well as lock assistance on the Upper Mississippi River, has purchased the mv. Saratoga from American River Transportation Company. Used for fleeting and harbor service since it was built in 1975 for the Badger Fleet in Westwego, La., the boat measures 60 by 22 feet and has 1,000 hp. from a pair of Cummins KTA19-M diesels that were installed in 2012. It was built by Intercoastal Shipyard.

Riverview Boat Store & Tug Service renamed the vessel Capt. Bowe after the manager of its vessel operations, Anson Bowe, who has been involved with the company since 2002.

The fifth assist tug to join Riverview’s growing fleet, the mv. Capt. Bowe will work at Lock 4 in Alma, Wis., said Jeremy Putman, owner. The company’s other boats assist at locks 5a, 7, 8 and 12.
