Mississippi River Commission Announces Schedule

The motor vessel Mississippi is making its annual high-water tour and inspection of the Mississippi River. Public meetings will be held by the Mississippi River Commission on board the mv. Mississippi as follows:

Caruthersville, Mo. – City Front / 9 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. April 4, 2022.

Memphis, Tenn. – Beale Street Landing / 9a.m.  — 12:30 p.m. April 5, 2022.

Greenville, Miss. – City Front  / 9 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. April 6, 2022.

Baton Rouge, La. – City Front / 9 a.m.  — 12:30 p.m. April 8, 2022.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Mississippi River Commission will limit the audience in the hearing room to 50 people during the public hearings.

The commission encourages speakers and guests to pre-register in advance. The commission encourages members of the public who do not wish to attend in person to please consider sending testimony for the public record via email to edie.whittington@usace.army.mil.

The Commission will accept testimonies for the record until 5 p.m. April 8, 2022.

Participation is based on the following priority:

  1. Individuals providing testimony
  2. Elected officials
  3. Staff members of elected officials
  4. General Public

Speakers and guests wishing to board the mv. Mississippi will be requested to bring proof of vaccination, a negative test dated within a 72-hour period or be willing to attest to being vaccinated. All guests will be required to wear a mask the entire time they are on the vessel.
