D&I Contracts: GLDD, Callan Marine, Hendrickson, Curtin Maritime
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company LLC (GLDD), based in Houston, has been awarded a $14.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for construction work in Martin County, Fla. A dune and beach berm will be constructed along 4 miles of shoreline in Jensen Beach.
Work is being contracted through the Jacksonville Engineer District and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2026.
GLDD was also the recipient of a second contract for work in Palm Beach, Fla., with the Jacksonville Engineer District contracting work as well. A firm-fixed-price contract of more than $20 million will go toward beach renourishment. Work is expected to be completed by the beginning of May 2026.
Callan Marine
A $21.4 million firm-fixed-price contract was awarded to Callan Marine Ltd., based in Galveston, Texas. Maintenance dredging will be performed in Port Mansfield, Texas, and is projected to be completed by the end of July 2026. All work will be contracted by the Galveston Engineer District.
Callan Marine Ltd. Has specialized in dredging and maritime construction since its founding in 2009. The company serves both public and private clients for dredging, construction and expansion projects.
Hendrickson Transportation
Hamburg, Iowa-based Hendrickson Transportation, LLC has been awarded a $43.7 million firm-fixed-price contract to make repairs to Missouri River Levee R-562 in Peru, Neb. Work is expected to be completed by November 2027. Work will be contracted by the Omaha Engineer District.
Hendrickson Transportation, LLC was founded in 2001, followed by its sister company Hendrickson Construction in 2011. The Iowa-based company specializes in earthwork construction, transportation, emergency disaster work and land leveling.
Curtin Maritime
A $22.6 million firm-fixed-price contract was awarded to Curtin Maritime Corp., based in Long Beach, Calif., to complete maintenance dredging on the Baltimore Harbor channels. Work in Baltimore, Md., is expected to be completed by mid-April 2026. The Baltimore Engineer District will be the contracting entity.
Founded in 1997 by Capt. Martin Curtin, Curtin Maritime Corporation specializes in shipyard services, maritime construction and transportation. The company operates with a fleet of both invader class and hybrid-electric tugboats and boasts six deck barges, five crane barges and four cranes.
