Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Seeks a New Dredge

The Delta-Pilot branch of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” announced a tender for the procurement of a new self-propelled dredge. The vessel will increase the capacity of the USPA’s own fleet and will be used for dredging works in the seaports of Ukraine.

“The new modern dredger will significantly increase the dredging volume that the USPA performs with its own fleet. The branches of the USPA have conducted, announced or planned six tenders on the electronic platform “Prozorro,” the scope of work for which exceeds 4 million cubic yards. Therefore, an increase of our own dredging fleet is a very urgent task for the USPA,” said Raivis Veckagans, head of the USPA,.

In accordance with the terms of reference, a specialized vessel should have a maximum draft of 5 meters (16.4 feet), a capacity of at least 1,800 cubic meters (2354 cubic yards) and a wave compensation system. The expected purchase price is 744 728 000 UAH. Proposals for participation in the auction are accepted until November 9. All information about the tender is publicly available at the Prozorro.

After commissioning, the dredge will be used to maintain the water depths of the seaports. The annual dredging volume is expected to increase to 2 million cubic meters (2.6 million cubic yards) per year. Dredging is now carried out by the USPA fleet and contractors for the ports of Izmail, Reni, Bilhorod-Bniestrovskiy, Mariupol, Berdiansk. Capital dredging is ongoing at the ports of Chornomorsk and Yuzhnv.
