IRPT Members Meet in Milwaukee, Elect New President

As part of its annual conference, held September 30–October 3 in Milwaukee, Wis., members of Inland Rivers, Ports & Terminals Association (IRPT) named a new president, Lucy Fletcher, who oversees business development for Brunswick, Mo.-based AGRIServices of Brunswick.

IRPT members celebrated the association’s past two years under the leadership of Robert Maxwell, port director of the Port of Rosedale, Miss., who helped strengthen the association’s role as a voice for ports, terminals and other partners throughout the inland river system through advocacy, education and collaboration.

“Robert’s dedication and vision has left a lasting mark on our association,” said Aimee Andres, executive director of IRPT. “As we turn the page, we are confident that Ms. Fletcher will build upon that legacy with energy, vision and a deep commitment to our members.”

IRPT’s 2025 carried the theme of “Navigating What’s Next,” but Fletcher said that was more than just a slogan.

“It is a call to action,” she said. “Our industry is strengthening, and IRPT is one reason for that growth. Encouraging new technologies, fostering collaboration, IRPT is broadening its scope to include collaboration with European ports through a transatlantic partnership with European Federation of Inland Ports.”

In greeting conference attendees, Maxwell noted the association’s growth over the years and recognized how that growth has occurred.

“It reminds us that this organization isn’t defined by one person or one sector,” Maxwell said. “It’s all of us, working together for the common good without bias or division.”

Speaking to the group, Fletcher took the chance to praise Andres’ vision for the association.

“Aimee’s leadership has been remarkable,” Fletcher said. “It’s been inspiring to walk alongside her on this journey.”
