Rock Island Engineer District Gets Two New Survey Vessels

The SV Dubuque under way in the Mississippi River near the Rock Island District headquarters on the morning of June 12. The new hydrographic survey vessel is beginning its life on the river by performing condition surveys in Pools 15, 14 and 13. Rock Island II is a temporary name during the manufacturing process. Corps Headquarters approved Dubuque as the vessel’s permanent name following its arrival at the district.
