Paducah Club Cancels Christmas Event

The Port of Paducah Propeller Club has canceled its 2020 River Industry Christmas Event due to COVID-19.

“We held off our decision as long as possible in hopes of a change in the COVID-19 scenario,” President Caleb T. King said in a November 17 letter to members and supporters. “Unfortunately, we have not seen things swing to the direction needed.”

The club also canceled its 2019 Christmas event due to multiple considerations, including a cost increase at the normal venue that the club did not want to pass along to its membership and a conflict with two other industry events.

King said in the letter that the club hopes to return to regular monthly membership meetings as soon as possible and that the officers and board have continued to meet virtually.

He added that the club is also hopeful it will be able to hold its spring golf outing. The club was able to have its fall golf outing, and hole sponsors made it possible for the club to continue providing two annual scholarships.
