Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based Parker Towing Company will be featured on National Geographic’s new show “Breaking Bobby Bones” Sunday, June 20, at 10 p.m. Eastern (9 p.m. Central).
Each episode of the show features radio and TV personality Bobby Bones traveling to a different part of the United States to “find people with unique jobs, skills, hobbies and abilities,” according to the network. In attempting to learn their trades, Bones explores “the triumphs and tragedies that made these heroes who they are today,” according to National Geographic.
For the episode featuring Parker Towing, Bones will join a towboat crew, learning some of what it takes to move barges on the nation’s waterways and, in the process, getting to know the crew members. Bones is best-known for “The Bobby Bones Show,” a country music radio show aired on more than 150 stations nationwide and streamed on iHeartRadio. Besides his radio show, Bones has a podcast, is the official in-house mentor on “American Idol,” won season 27 of “Dancing With The Stars,” is the host of “Opry,” has authored two bestselling books and tours as a standup comedian.
