Pushing Hope Tournament

This year’s Pushing Hope Charity Tournament had a new look and a new location. The August 19 event was held at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton, Ill. The day started out with morning and afternoon golf rounds for 60 teams, and softball was replaced with a corn hole/bags tournament with 30 teams competing Friday night after the seafood boil.

The annual event, organized by Ceres Barge Line, benefits Mary Crowley Cancer Research. Although the amount on the ceremonial check is $173,000, the final donation was actually just over $183,000—up from last year’s amount of $150,000.
