Mobile District Awards Inland Dredging $40 Million Contract

The Mobile Engineer District has awarded a firm-fixed-price contract valued at $40 million to Dyersburg, Tenn.-based Inland Dredging Company LLC for the rental of a 24-inch cutterhead dredge with operator. Inland Dredging was the only bidder on the contract. Work locations will be assigned with each task order, according to the contract announcement from the Department of Defense, with an estimated completion date of July 28, 2026.

The first work order on the new contract will occur on the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway, with an estimated start time of August or September, according to Ryan Reich, chief of the Mobile District’s inland navigation section.

In the past week, Inland Dredging Company’s cutterhead dredge America and its associated fleet of support vessels were working near Mile 349.5 on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway with dredged material placed in an upland disposal area. That work on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway was the final task order under a previous contract with the Mobile District.
