40 Under 40 Awards: Terrebonne, Wibralski

For the third year, 40 of the industry’s future leaders will be honored at the Inland Marine Expo with the “40 Under 40” award, which recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the inland marine transportation industry in a variety of fields. All 40 honorees were nominated by executives and peers for their hard work and dedication to the industry.

Over the course of 14 weeks, The Waterways Journal is featuring all 40 recipients. This week we recognize Travis J. Terrebonne and Dan Wibralski.

Travis J. Terrebonne

Travis J. Terrebonne, 38, is president of Industrial Diesel Service LLC, based in Galliano, La.

He has been in the diesel repair industry for more than 20 years. Terrebonne founded Industrial Diesel Service (IDC) 16 years ago, and he remains active in day-to-day operations.

The company maintains a zero-lost-time incident record and is committed to safety excellence, general manager Katy Ledet said.

Terrebonne said the single greatest asset the company offers customers is its staff, whose caring, commitment and integrity he praised.

Daniel Babin, managing member of Babin Maritime Consulting LLC, recalled meeting Terrebonne many years ago while working on a vessel acquisition and recommissioning project. He described him, in part, as a person who is driven and full of integrity as well as being an astute businessman. Besides all that, he siad, he is God-fearing, devoted to family and committed to his community.

“His knowledge was vast and quite applicable,” Babin said. “You see, Travis has, as they say, seen a thing or two, met industry challenges and stared them down with a ferocity that can give one with project ownership a high level of comfort. To this day, he runs his business with integrity and demands excellence. In all of our professional endeavors, there’s never been a time that I couldn’t lean on him for knowledge, guidance and just good old-fashioned help. Babin also praised the IDS staff, saying they follow his strong leadership and offer the same positive and resolute assistance.

“He continues to push for the growth and advancement of the marine industry, and we shall remain forever grateful and appreciative for his contributions,” Babin said.

In expressing thanks for the 40 Under 40 Award, Terrebone thanked his wife, Leslie, and four children, Ryleigh, Lane, Sloane and Sebastian, for their support, noting that there were times they had to sacrifice spending time with him due to his professional demands.

Dan Wibralski

Dan Wibralski, 37, is vice president of underwater services for J.F. Brennan Company Inc., based in La Crosse, Wis.

Wibralski joined Brennan as a project engineer in 2006, working on the Lock and Dam 11 major rehabilitation project (Phase 2) in Dubuque, Iowa. He then went on to work as a project manager for Phase 3 as well as several more dam construction and repair projects throughout the inland waterways.

“Eventually, he became the director of our Industrial Group, where he oversaw several crews who provide specialty construction services such as grouting, scour and erosion repair, pile jacketing, post-tension anchoring and more,” said Mark Binsfeld, vice president of business development. “In 2019, Dan became the vice president of our Underwater Services Group. This is one of the fastest-growing groups at Brennan, with more than 60 ADCI certified divers and several topside crews who cover the majority of the continental United States.”
