Maritime Partners Adds Mv. Joan Pluck To Inland Fleet

FMT Shipyard & Repair, located on the Harvey Canal in Harvey, La., has delivered the mv. Joan Pluck to Metairie, La.-based Maritime Partners. The Joan Pluck measures 67.5 feet by 29 feet and is rated at 1,600 hp., thanks to a pair of Mitsubishi S6R2-Y3MPTAW Tier 3 main engines from Laborde Products. The main engines, each rated at 803 hp. at 1,400 rpm., are paired to Reintjes gears from Karl Senner LLC.
“Our charter customers expect dependable equipment that keeps their operators on track,” said Austin Sperry, co-founder and president of Maritime Partners. “That’s why we continue investing in assets that do exactly that.”
Echoing Sperry, Brian Laborde, president and CEO of Laborde Products, emphasized the reliability of the Mitsubishi engines’ mechanical design.
“The Joan Pluck is another example of how Maritime Partners is building a portfolio focused on long-term asset value and operational consistency,” Laborde said. “Mitsubishi engines support that with a platform their customers know and trust.”
