WIMOs Reports Membership Growth, Global Expansion
Women in Maritime Operations (WIMOs) has released its annual report, noting growth domestically and internationally.
The report, released November 25, covers August 1, 2024, through July 31, 2025. The organization reports it has grown from 1,000 to 1,192 members and has representation from 286 companies, up from 250. Members now come from six countries, compared to three in 2024, and WIMOs hosted 158 events, up from 104 the previous year.
“WIMOs turned 8 this year, and I couldn’t be prouder!” said Kasey Eckstein, co-founder and executive director. “When Jenna Gaudet and I launched this organization, we never imagined the growth and community we would build together. Today we’re nearly 1,200 members strong, representing women across the country and even expanding globally.”
WIMOs is dedicated to recruiting, retaining, advancing and promoting women in the maritime industry through sharing knowledge and continuing education.
Goals accomplished in 2025 have included expanding into three new U.S. regions and hosting inaugural events in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois as well as in Nashville, Tenn., and Houma, La. WIMOs also expanded internationally, welcoming new members from Morocco and South Africa, and hosted its first-ever international events in Nigeria.
WIMOs launched a retiree membership program, designed to create a meaningful way for retired maritime professionals to remain engaged and share their expertise. The organization also partnered with Rice Business School to offer discounted accredited executive leadership courses, along with additional in-person and virtual training sessions at no cost to members.
